A visit to St. Peter's Lutheran School

On Thursday, January 28th, I was invited to St. Peter’s Lutheran School in Macomb, Michigan. It was “Dress as your Favorite Book Character” day and I was included in the festivities. Mara Millich (my savior for the day) and I set up in their awesome activities room. We were visited by students ranging from kindergarteners to sixth graders for different sessions throughout the day.

The younger classrooms colored t-rex and velociraptor,  discussed dinosaur facts, and enjoyed “Dinosaurs Living in My Hair.” The older groups not only heard DLIMH 1 – but listened intently to DLIMH 2. I shared some fun poems my mother used to recite to me as a child and we discussed some fun dinosaur facts. I introduced them to the newly discovered dinosaur, Hualianceratops, which was given a name in December 2015. All the children, teachers, and faculty were so warm, polite, and welcoming. A huge shout out to Cris Green for setting up the day with us and coordinating book sales. It’s a great school and I loved our visit. As usual, I am carrying around their faces and energy with me day after day. Enjoy some of the photos from the day. Their drawings were amazing and their spirit inspirational.

Thanks St. Peter’s Lutheran School! You Rock!

Next, the 5th and 6th Graders - they were so smart!

And lastly, the 1st and 2nd Graders - so much fun! What a great way to end the day!
