When it's time for students to color the dinosaurs, I encourage them to “color outside-the-box.” This proves difficult for some students, after all, they are taught to color inside the lines. I ask them to disregard this technique and color as creatively as they can imagine. Some students catch on to this concept quicker than others. The idea is to let them see and learn different can be okay. I try to give them a green light to be creative and to use their imagination as much as possible.
Above and below are some of my favorite examples of "thinking" and "coloring" outside-the-box. I have also included blank Dinos for you to color at home. We would love to see what you create! There's only one rule ~ COLOR OUTSIDE-THE-BOX!!
